Illinois Health Care Issues
CBHC is currently working on many fronts as part of the ongoing fight for Accessible, Affordable, Quality Health Care in Illinois:
HCJC takes advantage of the broadest and most politically savvy coalition ever organized around health care reform. In the current political environment in Illinois, a strong multi-faceted grassroots effort must be developed and sustained throughout this process. Success in Illinois, a major Midwestern industrial state which resembles the socio-economic and geographic make-up of the United States, has the potential to spur other states to embark on their own campaigns.
An important part of CBHC's mission is collecting the stories of Illinoisans who are struggling with the consequences of our broken health care system. These stirring narratives reveal the human face of the health care crisis.
Faith communities across Illinois recognize that the health care crisis is a moral issue. The Faith Caucus consists of representatives from a wide array of spiritual traditions coming together to work for health care justice for all.
