The day after World Autism Awareness Day, Rauner ended all state funding for an autism program that helped thousands of autistic Illinois children and their families.
On Good Friday, Rauner ended all state funding to bury the poor in Illinois. Nursing homes that care for elderly people on Medicaid can no longer find funeral homes to bury the bodies of those who have passed.
Rauner's cuts, referred to as the "Good Friday Massacre" included ending funding to several programs that help children, families, and adults with developmental disabilities, epilepsy, autism, substance abuse disorders, mental health issues, and homelessness issues.
The very same week Governor Rauner cut these programs, he authorized more than $100 million in corporate tax cuts.
